Did you know that refinishing your cabinets is the single most effective way to increase the value of your home? It’s true—a kitchen remodel is one of the most sought after home improvement projects.

Many homeowners are intimidated by one of two things: first, the cost of having a professional do the work for you, or second, the time required to tackle a project like this yourself.

The Basics Of N-Hance Wood Refinishing

Here’s a simple breakdown of our most popular cabinet color change service.

Step 1 – Prep Your Cabinets

Before we begin, we always start with a free in-home estimate to make sure expectations are clear. Once we’re ready to get started, we’ll drape off our work area to protect your home, remove hardware from your cabinets, patch any blemishes or cracks, and carefully remove cabinet doors if necessary.

Step 2 – Clean Your Cabinets Thoroughly

We take care to make sure every cabinet is a clean canvas prior to refinishing. We do this by removing any dust, debris, or residue from your cabinet surfaces. We’ll also inspect and clean any surrounding air vents to make sure the area remains dust-free throughout the refinishing process.

Step 3 – Apply A Custom Finish Of Your Choice To The Cabinets

We start by applying a sealant, then spray on your new cabinet finish. For some projects, if necessary, we apply the finish by hand rather than spraying. We typically apply between 3-5 coats to make sure the finish is complete and even. Then, we’ll dry your cabinets with powerful fans and polish them until they’re perfect prior to adding the final finish.

Step 4 – Apply A Protective Finish To Your Cabinets

For cabinets treated with our Color Shift of Color Change service, we’ll apply a protective finish to make sure the stain doesn’t rub off in the future.

Step 5 – Cure Cabinets With Our Lightspeed® Nano Instant-Cure Technology

All wood surfaces refinished by N-Hance are cured using our unique Lightspeed® Nano Instant-Cure technology. This method is non-toxic, leaves behind very little odor, and requires no sanding. Your cabinets will be left with a Lightspeed Plus™ anti-microbial UV finish that cures instantly. That means that your wood surfaces will be ready to use immediately, and won’t chip, scratch, or peel.

Step 5 – Inspect The Results

We won’t ever say a job is done until we inspect every detail. We aim for the highest quality and aren’t done until we know that you’re happy with the final results.

Step 6 – Tips For In-Home Maintenance

We make sure to leave you with care instructions for your new wood surfaces and a complete maintenance kit.
