Protect Your Cabinets

Cleaning and caring for your cabinets after the N-Hance Wood Refinishing process is vital for proper upkeep. To help avoid chipping, flaking and unnecessary wear, protect your cabinets from the following:

WATER

Water may seem harmless, but over time, it can break down the protective coating, compromising the finish. Quickly remove water with a towel, by blotting – not wiping – and avoid draping damp towels over cabinet doors.

Steam & Heat

Steam from the dishwasher or shower can permeate through the cabinets’ finish, resulting in cracking, discoloration, or peeling. To help prevent steam damage, blot wet surfaces with a dry towel and clean regularly with a nonabrasive wood cleaner.

Grease & Food

The composites of grease and food can also compromise the finish of your newly refinished cabinets. Wood cleaners or warm water with a dry soft towel should be used quickly after grease or food splatters on your cabinets.

ABRASIVES & SHARP OBJECTS

Never use abrasives or sharp objects, including sandpaper, steel wool, scouring pads and wire brushes, on the surface of your cabinets.

HARSH CLEANERS & PASTE WAX

Many cleaners and waxes that promise to bring life and beauty back to your cabinets will remove vital cabinet protection and attract dirt while compromising the pristine condition of the cabinet refinishing. Avoid products that say waxes, polishes, or protects. These will leave a soil-attracting residue on your wood surface.

HOW TO MAINTAIN YOUR CABINETS

Step 1: Your wood cleaner can be applied onto any hard surface to remove food, dirt, and grease. Be sure to first test this product in an inconspicuous area.

Step 2: Wait 10-30 seconds for the cleaner to emulsify the soiled area.

Step 3: Blot with a clean, soft, microfiber towel to remove the spot.

Step 4: Repeat steps 1-3 as needed.

For regular dusting, slightly dampen a microfiber cloth and lightly wipe the cabinet door.

CLEANING CABINET HARDWARE

Step1: Remove the hardware from the cabinet door.

Step2: Using a mild detergent and a microfiber cloth remove oil and
dirt. Then buff and shine the hardware.

Step3: Reassemble the hardware once it is completely dry.
