Kitchen Cabinet Organization

N-Hance Wood Refinishing of Fort Wayne is Indiana’s cabinet expert. Though we traditionally focus on the outside of cabinets with our revolutionary cabinet renewal services, today we want to focus on the inside of your cabinets. Keeping a cabinet organized and neat can be a difficult task, however, it is certainly worth your while. Organized cabinets are ones that you will enjoy for the years to come. So we want to help you out with five tips for better cabinet organization. Check them out below and let us know what you think.

Use A Dish rack

A dish rack can be used for more than just drying dishes. They make great storage inside of a cabinet. We find this especially useful for children’s dishes. You can place a dish rack in one of your bottom cabinets that your child can easily access. Fill the rack with their dishes so they know exactly where they are and where they go once they’re done. It will help get your child more involved with basic housework like putting dishes away and keep your cabinets nice and organized.

Use Tension Rods

Tension rods will help you store cleaning spray bottles or pots and pans if you get some small hooks. The tension rod needs to be set in a nice and sturdy cabinet so be sure your cabinet can take it before putting it in. If you think your cabinet may need some help, just give a call or send us a quick message. We would be more than happy to fix up your damaged cabinet to get a shelf or tension rod in there.

Use Labels

Some people are apprehensive about labels because of the way they can make them look. However, we don’t believe in label shaming! Labels are a great organization tool, especially in a cabinet with spices or crafts. Having a clear label will help you pair items up and avoid mistakes like adding salt instead of sugar to your favorite dessert.

Use Shelf Risers

A lot of people have more kitchen items than space to store those items. We definitely get it. Similar to our dish rack tip, a shelf riser can help you add more space to your cabinet to cleanly fit in all of your extra items. They are perfect for cans, boxes of food, crafting supplies, you name it! There are plenty of shelf riser options available so you’re sure to find something that meets your needs and design style.

Use Magnetic Strips

Our final tip also has to do with creating some space. Think about all the metal items you may have. We’re sure you can think of the pieces of your kitchen appliances, your smaller pans, some utensils, etc.. These metal items can be particularly tricky to store and keep organized without taking up too much space. A magnetic strip attached to the back or side of your cabinet is the perfect solution. The metal item can attach to the magnet and still leave the majority of the cabinet open for other things. Just be sure to find a magnet that’s powerful enough to hold your kitchen supplies without being so powerful that it would take a bodybuilder to pull the supplies off when they need to be used.

We hope that you find these tips helpful when setting up your kitchen cabinets. N-Hance of Fort Wayne loves to give people their dream kitchen, and we know organized cabinets are a part of that. Of course, another big part is how the cabinets look on the outside. If you’re not in love with the current color, look, or the general condition of your cabinets then we have the solution for you! Let us refinish your cabinets to give them the facelift they need.
