Updating A Maple Kitchen Right On The Boise River
We recently assisted another Eagle, Idaho homeowner with their kitchen remodel, updating their 90’s era Maple cabinets. This beautiful home was right on the Boise River Greenbelt and the open floor plan along with lots of big windows means this amazing cabinet transformation will impress all the joggers and bikers, not just family using it. Follow along as we walk you through our kitchen cabinet refinishing process.
Here’s where this kitchen began. Lighter stained Maple cabinets, that haven’t been refinished since they were installed over 20 years ago. We will be doing an opaque color change on these cabinets, updating their look to a striking white finish with an accent color for the kitchen island.
Removal & Preparation
This kitchen has an island at the center and some great window cabinets that require some extra prep and refinishing on the interior of the cabinet boxes. Not to mention the custom wood panels on the Sub-Zero refrigerator.
Preparing The Kitchen
It’s all about the prep-work. Taking our time making sure everything is properly taped off, ventilated and non-painted surfaces are protected is one of the most important parts of a cabinet refinishing job.
Painting Cabinet Doors
With the doors removed and back at the shop, our team spends several days preparing, sanding, caulking and of course refinishing the doors with their new colors.
Cabinet Boxes
While our crew at the shop was working on the doors and drawer fronts, Dylan was back at the house sanding and spraying the cabinet boxes with a great white and darker accent color. All that’s left now is reinstalling everything, don’t forget the glass doors.
